NFL Week 9

Hey! Things are starting to turn around! We went 4-2 last week.  Small victories are victories all the same.  Hopefully we’re starting a trend.  The season record is now 24-29.  Two good weeks and we’ll be at break even.  Hey, now is the time when the cream rises to the top. Let’s take a look at this week’s slate.  As always any losses incurred by relying on said information is not the responsibility of me, The Mountain, Entercom communications, Entercom Northeast, its properties or its subsidiaries.

GIANTS (+10) over Patriots.  Here’s a good case of just take the points.  The patriots aren’t THAT good.  The Giants on the other hand, in spite of all of their holes (and they have more than their share) will start the “English Patient” part of their season…a long….boring…..death.  But the Giants are a good cover team on the road posting a 29-13 mark ATS over their past 42.  Works for me.  Giants

RAIDERS (-8 ½) over Broncos.  Boy, Tim Tebow fell to earth last week, eh?  Personally I think Tebow will make it, but he’s going to need some time.  Remember Doug Flutie?  How many teams gave up on him so he could go to Canada and be the greatest player in the history of the CFL.  When Flutie made it back it was obvious he left the NFL way too soon.  Unfortunately for Tebow that day isn’t here yet.  Truth be told I played ball at Wyoming Seminary with Chuck Bresnahan.  Ol’ chiuck is a pretty smart guy.  I don’t think Tebow is ready for the “stick” defense quite yet.  Raiders win big

BENGALS (+3) over Titans.  I get the Bengals AND points?  Done.  Those Bengals have covered 8 in a row in the division.  Bring it on!  Bengals

PACKERS (-6) over Chargers.  The Packers won’t go undefeated.  The Lions will fix that Thanksgiving day.  But the Pack carries a donut til then.  The Bolts have only covered 2 of their last 9.  Looks like 2 out of 10.
Packers

STEELERS (-3) over Ravens.  You don’t need to go much further than the Roethlisberger/Flacco comparison.  Ben’s quietly having an MVP style year.  Maybe married life suits him?
Steelers.

EAGLES (-8) over Bears. Remember that game last year when the bears had that lousy field and Michael Vick couldn’t cut?  You know what they say about paybacks, right?
Eagles

That’s how I see it.  Enjoy the games!
